One of the largest county jails in California
West Valley Detention Center opened in 1991 on Etiwanda Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga. The Sheriff’s Department calls it one of the largest county jails in California: 3,347 beds, more than six hundred staff, and fifty to sixty thousand bookings and releases a year.
It is the West End’s jail. An arrest in Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Fontana, Chino or Montclair almost always ends up here — which is why we post more bonds at West Valley than anywhere else in the counties we cover.
