Bail Bonds in Riverside, CA

Riverside is the county seat, and almost uniquely among the cities we cover, everything is in one place: the booking jail on Orange Street, the criminal court on Main Street a few blocks away, and one of our two offices in between. Different county, different sheriff, same phone number.

Where they are

The county seat, with everything within a few blocks

A different sheriff and a different court system from most of our work — and, unusually, a jail and a courthouse close enough to walk between.

After midnight

Riverside Police Department books its arrests into Robert Presley Detention Center, 4000 Orange Street, downtown. Presley has been the county's downtown jail since 1989 and is one of five correctional facilities Riverside County runs — which is why the first question here is genuinely which building rather than a formality. The criminal case is then heard at the Hall of Justice, 4100 Main Street, a few blocks away.

What changes at the county line is the machinery, not the price. Riverside County has its own sheriff, its own inmate records, its own bail schedule and its own visiting system — Presley splits its visiting week between two sides of the jail, which is a detail that catches out anyone whose previous experience was in San Bernardino County. None of that alters what a bond costs: the premium is a regulated rate, not a county one.

We keep an office in Riverside as well as the one in Ontario, which means an agent is usually a short distance from Orange Street rather than driving in from another county. It also means somebody on the phone at three in the morning has actually stood in the Presley lobby, which is a small thing until it is the thing you need.

Bail Bond Central writes bonds across both counties — Corona at this end, Ontario, Chino and Fontana over the San Bernardino line — and the whole list is on our locations page. If an arrest happened in Riverside but the booking went to one of the county's other facilities, we will find it — that is the search we run before anything else.

The local route

A Presley night, from the outside

What the wait is made of, and which parts of it anybody can influence — counted from the booking rather than from your first phone call, because those are rarely the same moment.

We find the booking first. Riverside County runs five correctional facilities, so somebody arrested in the city is very likely at Presley but not certainly, and confirming it costs nothing. Once it surfaces on the county record we read the bail figure and quote the premium in full — no part of that is a negotiation, because the rate comes from filings approved by the Department of Insurance. Paperwork is electronic and signed from wherever you are; an agent takes the bond to Orange Street. After that the timing belongs to the jail, and the honest range is one to six hours depending on the hour and the floor. We will tell you which kind of night it is rather than inventing a number, and we stay reachable until your person walks out.

What will not move the clock

  • Calling the jail's line repeatedly
  • Paying above the quoted premium
  • Waiting in the Orange Street lobby

Common questions

Bail questions from Riverside

Five answers about arrests in the county seat — which of the county's five jails, which courthouse, and what changes now that you are dealing with a different sheriff.

Where is someone arrested in Riverside taken?

Almost always Robert Presley Detention Center, 4000 Orange Street in downtown Riverside. It is the county's downtown jail and has been since 1989. Riverside County runs five correctional facilities in total, so there are exceptions — a transfer, a warrant from elsewhere in the county, or a booking in the Murrieta or Banning area. We confirm the building on the county record before anyone drives anywhere.

Where is a Riverside criminal case heard?

At the Riverside Hall of Justice, 4100 Main Street, which handles felony and misdemeanour matters for the city and the surrounding area. It is a few blocks from the jail on Orange Street, which is unusual — in most of the cities we cover the two are in different towns. The bond is posted at the jail; the court date is what the bond guarantees.

Does dealing with Riverside County instead of San Bernardino County change anything?

It changes the machinery rather than the money. A different sheriff, a different inmate locator, a different bail schedule and a different visiting system — Presley splits its visiting week across two sides of the jail, which surprises people who have dealt with the San Bernardino facilities. The premium a bondsman charges is regulated, and it does not change at the county line.

Do you have an office in Riverside?

Yes, on 11th Street, in addition to the Ontario office. In practice it matters less than you would think, because the agreement and the payment are handled remotely and the agent goes to the jail rather than you coming to us. What it does mean is that somebody is usually close to Orange Street already, which shortens the part of the night that is actually within anyone's control.

There are several courthouses on Main Street — which one is ours?

Riverside stacks four of them within a few blocks, which is genuinely disorientating the first time. The Hall of Justice at 4100 Main Street is the criminal one and therefore the one a bail matter eventually points at. The Historic Courthouse at 4050 Main and the Family Law Courthouse at 4175 Main handle other business entirely, and the Juvenile Courthouse is out on County Farm Road. Only the Hall of Justice matters here — and, as everywhere, the bond itself is posted at the jail rather than at any of the four.

If you do come in

Riverside, and the office on 11th Street

Our second office is here, near enough to Orange Street to be genuinely useful — though as everywhere, the trip that matters is the agent's, not yours.
